Abby is a Content Strategist for the Lift Division team and graduated graduated from the University of Missouri with a Strategic Communications degree. Between writing blogs for clients and optimizing content copy to its fullest potential, Abby has a deep passion for the wonderful ways of words. 


What is the one thing you think every business owner should do to improve their digital footprint? Honestly, just taking the first step and making an SEO-optimized website can take a business from 0 to 100. A well-done website shows initiative from the business, and I’ve seen the difference it can make firsthand. I know when I am searching for a service or product on my own time, I’m more likely to consider them if they have a user-friendly website and an active online presence.


What’s your official title and what do people think you do? My official title is Content Strategist, but in most simple terms I just tell everybody I write blogs and pages to make websites fun to read!


What is your favorite thing about working in the digital marketing space? I love the range of clients we get to work with and our ever-evolving skill set in the process. As a writer, I often have to perform a lot of research about a specific topic or industry, and I always take some of that knowledge with me. I know the saying “You learn something new every day” is cliché, but it could not be more true with my job and I am thankful for it! 

What’s one task you wish you got to do more of? I love getting to collaborate one on one with the incredibly talented web designers on the Lift Division team. Whenever we get projects that combine visual and written content, it’s always an end product I am incredibly proud of.


What is your essential desktop item or office toy? My desk companion is a little pink T-Rex that lights up when you tap on it. She gets to witness all my best work days and the days where I spend 30 minutes writing one sentence. Oh, and my planner!


Who’s your most listened-to artist or album for your work day? I am a big listener of niche Lofi videos on YouTube – the more specific, the better. One day it’s a compilation of energetic Nintendo tracks, and other days it’s coffee shop jazz. I also love a good mix of the 70s and 80s – Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, etc.


If someone made a movie or TV show about Lift Division, who should play you? Since it’s my TV show or movie and I make the rules, I would want to be portrayed by one of today’s chic it-girls like Anya Taylor Joy. She’s smart, stylish, and she voiced Princess Peach who is forever my Mario Kart main. 


If you were a cartoon character, what would your uniform be?  My default uniform is a cozy sweater (bonus if it’s turtleneck), a patterned skirt or pair of American Eagle jeans and some black chunky heel boots.
